The Water Dragon Cometh…
My family kicks off the lunar new year each year with a frantic race to get the house in order, such that everything is spick and span and ready to receive guests. By the time the clock strikes 12, the house is in order and we are 4 very relieved souls.
This year,as we are reaching the milestone of FINALLY unpacking our belongings into the new house, I thought it would be fun just to photograph some individual shots, quirky ones, I hope, to bring some laughter into the new place. So hang on to your knickers…

The “baby” of the house… although the term baby is used VERY loosely…

My Lao Bei… this is about the best smile I could tease out of him, you’ll see what I mean below.

The matriarch of the house, I don’t think anything could have been done around the house without my Mother.

My parents, to whom I owe a tremendous amount to, and the people who lend so much meaning to the lunar new year. (PS, my father was struggling to smile haha)

and of course, a self portrait (with the help of my sister) to complete the series of quirky shots.

Family Portrait, hopefully I’ll manage to take nicer ones in years to come.
A happy lunar new year to one and all. May we all continue to live in God’s abundant providence and may he grant us all health and continue to shower us all with his grace and blessings this new lunar year.
我祝你新年快乐,万事如意,心想事成,龙马精神,步步高升,喜气洋洋,步步高升!

Dearest Joan,

You’re taking this step of faith
In obedience to the Lord
To be baptized in His precious name
And heed the Master’s call
To rise up with faith in God
And go where He may lead
To share God’s love to everyone
And touch them in their need
May God pour out His blessings
Upon your life today
So you may walk in His abundance
As you commit to Him your way
Keep on trusting in the Lord
No matter what you face
And keep your eyes on Jesus Christ
And live in His sweet grace.
Love, Me
